Cascadia Soil Science was founded by Dr. Dave Walla to help farmers across the Pacific Northwest and beyond to improve their bottom line by enhancing their soil health. Dr. Dave believes in taking a holistic approach to soil science that encompasses boots on the ground farm visits, comprehensive lab testing, custom fertilizer recommendations, and practical soil fertility management programs. Dave used a combination of data, experience, and communication to inform decisions. He believes every day in a plants life matters and has a seriousness and sense of urgency about his work which he balances with a sense of humor and awe of the natural world.

Dr. Dave has a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Oregon and has worked various roles in the fertilizer industry including formulation, QA/QC, and R&D. For the past decade Dr. Dave has been helping farmers optimize their soil and has experience with crops from alfalfa to zucchini and corn to cannabis. He is dedicated to providing practical and innovative solutions for soil and water management, ensuring sustainable farming practices that lead to thriving crops and a healthier environment. He has worked with over 50 cannabis farms from Oregon to New Jersey and has a wealth of of cannabis specific knowledge, data, and experience. He also loves working with farmers of all walks and always gets excited about working with new crops!
